Employment Policies

Following extensive discussions with recognised Trade Unions we are pleased to launch four new policies on Discipline, Grievance, Attendance and Capability. We are now in the process of transitioning to the new policies with immediate effect.  

The previous Codes of Practice will continue to be used for existing 'live' cases (and can be found below) but all new casework will now be managed under the new policies. These policies are currently being prepared for inclusion on our web pages, however in the meantime managers should seek advice from HR on any new cases until the policies are available online.

The new policies aim to simplify and speed up current processes without diluting any current safeguards to encourage and support managers to engage in active dialogue with staff at the earliest opportunity.

Full briefings and any necessary training are scheduled to take place and details on this will be published on the HR web pages in due course.

Clinical Staff - Joint Protocol

Clinical staff will have an employment relationship with both a partner trust and QMUL.  In many regards, it is critical that decisions made by the Trust in regard to employment of clinical staff are informed by the views of QMUL and vice versa. The Joint Protocol describes how these processes are managed.
