External resources to support  LGBT+ equality and the creation of an inclusive working enviroment at Queen Mary.

East London Out Project (ELOP) 

ELOP is a local charity to QMUL. It is a lesbian and gay centre that offers a range of social, emotional and support services to LGBT communities, with core services including counselling and young people’s services. They also offer training and consultancy for fellow professionals and those seeking to enhance their understanding of issues facing LGBT communities. 

Galop 

Community safety charity for LGBT people giving advice and support to people who have experienced biphobia, homophobia, transphobia, sexual violence or domestic abuse.  Galop also supports LGBT who encounter problems with the police or have questions about the criminal justice system. 

Gendered Intelligence 

Gendered Intelligence (GI) is a trans-led charity working across the UK. We were originally a Community Interest Company, established in 2008. GI work with the trans community and those who impact on trans lives; we particularly specialise in supporting young trans people aged 8-25. 

GIRES 

GIRES is a UK wide organisation whose purpose is to improve the lives of trans and gender non-conforming people of all ages, including those who are non-binary and non-gender.

London Friend 

London Friend is the UK’s oldest Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans charity. We are here to support the health and mental wellbeing of the LGBT community in and around London. 

We offer counselling and support around issues such as same-sex relationships, sexual and gender identity and promoting personal growth and self-confidence. We're also home to Antidote - the UK's oldest LGBT drug and alcohol service. Our social groups provide a safe space to meet and socialise as an alternative to the bar and club scene 

Mermaids 

Mermaids supports gender-diverse children and young people until their 20th birthday, as well as their families and professionals involved in their care. Transgender and gender-variant children and teens need support and understanding, as well as the freedom to explore their gender identity. Mermaids has evolved into one of the UK’s leading LGBTQ+ charities, empowering thousands of people with its secure online communities, local community groups, helpline services, web resources, events and residential weekends. 

MindOut 

MindOut is a mental health service run by and for lesbians, gay, bisexual, trans, and queer people. We work to improve the mental health and wellbeing of LGBTQ communities and to make mental health a community concern. 

Rainbow Minds 

Rainbow Mind is a new service aiming to tackle mental health issues for individuals within the LGBTQI+ community. Rainbow Mind is a collaborative project between Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest (Mind CHWF) and Mind in Salford, working across London and Greater Manchester.  

Tower Hamlets LGBT Community Forum 

The Tower Hamlets LGBT Community Forum is a project that aims to bring together LGBT+ people (and allies) who live, work, study or socialise in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets to discuss and have an influence on issues which affect the local LGBT community, as well as network, socialise and meet other local LGBT people. 

Stonewall 

The UK's leading charity working to promote equality for LGBT people across the globe.  

Switchboard 

Switchboard is a helpline provides a one-stop listening service for LGBT+ people, offering advice and understanding on the phone, by email and through Instant Messaging.
