Aurora Women's Leadership Development Programme 2017-18

Queen Mary is proud of it’s ongoing relationship with the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education, and is again participating in the Aurora Programme for 2017/2018.

Championed by Chief Operating Officer Laura Gibbs and Vice-Principal (Student Experience, Teaching and Learning) Rebecca Lingwood, this is the first time that QMUL is funding 20 places centrally, which is a result of feedback from QMUL’s silver Athena SWAN application process that highlighted the need for more central support for colleagues looking to take the next step in their career development.

Joining our champions we have previous Aurora alumnae who act as Role Models. They are;

Fiona Marsh

School of Biological and Chemical Sciences

Isobel Bates

School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science

What is Aurora?

The Aurora Programme is a unique partnership bringing together leadership experts and higher education institutions to take positive action to address the under-representation of women in leadership positions in the sector. It aims to enable women in academic and professional staff roles to think of themselves as future leaders; to influence their institutions and to develop leadership skills.

As part of our core values, QMUL believes in supporting our female staff, both academic and professional services, to achieve their best potential and become future leaders at the university.
